Checking in after 1 1/2 Months

WEIGHT: 206.8

Had some ups and downs, still seem to be maintaining! Diet is better, more fruit for sure. Watching the amounts that I eat, but I still eat some fast food. I'm not gonna lie. Just less of it.

Peace...

Back to Normal - Day 16

WEIGHT: 207.0

I skipped quite a few days since things got really busy.

I've basically hovered in the 208's quite a bit. I was out of town for business for the past 5 days and thought for sure that I would have gained several pounds...you know, more alcohol with work friends and more eating out. Somehow I've come back just fine!

While I did eat fast food quite a bit, I did manage to stick to the fruit juice & fruit for almost every breakfast. I really don't feel the need for anything more. I had some scrambled eggs on the plane, but only because they were "out of fruit". How does that happen in first class?!

I had salads several times on the trip, always dressing on the side, not using it all ever. I DID indulge in a few pleasantries such as a Frisco Melt at Steak n' Shake, but NO SHAKES. I had french fries about 3 times, but when I'm home I've eliminated french fries (onion rings, etc) from the diet almost all the time. I also go for the low carb burgers that use lettuce instead of buns and I'm surprised how good they are. I get full quick, which is good.

I've also adopted the habit of making a big crockpot of vegetable soup every few weeks. I added a little chicken stock this time and it kicks ass. Keep it in tupperware and it stays good for a few weeks. I eat it when I've eaten something else fatty that day. It kind of keeps things in balance. My body will obviously vary from other peoples', but I have NOT cut out all the bad stuff necessarily...I've just limited it, added some good things, and I'm really satisfied.

I'm trying to plan when I can do the MC again. Maybe at a 6 month interval? I still have a lot of front body fat that needs to go...

Back to Normal - Day 3

WEIGHT: 207.2
LOSS: .2
FEELING: Good

Wouldn't mind maintaining this weight! Juice for breakfast is perfect. My plan is to not have more than one "bad" (if any) meal per day. I think that I can do this.

Back to Normal - Day 2

WEIGHT: 207.4
GAIN: 1.2
Feeling: Good

Yesterday was Easter, so we took the Moms out to Salt Creek Grille and they had an amazing buffet. I was limited by my stomach size...skipped the mimosas and opted for diet Pepsi.

Gained some weight for the first time. Not surprised. The challenge is to not gain today. Juice (fresh-squeezed grapefruit now my fave) for breakfast so far, soup will be for lunch (still working on that soup!). Rehearsal tonight.

Still feeling good that I'm sitting right at a 14 pound loss!

Back to Normal - Day 1

WEIGHT: 206.2
LOSS: 1.2
FEELING: Good

Didn't eat enough yesterday (juice morning, soup lunch, some salad & raw veg dinner), running around like crazy. Had some chicken tenders last night at midnight :o)

YUM.

Breaking the Fast - Day 3

WEIGHT: 207.4
LOSS: .8
FEELING: Good

Long day ahead...

Breaking the Fast - Day 2

WEIGHT: 208.2
LOSS: .6
Feeling: A little woozy in the stomach

Last night I started feeling a little very light nausea after I had my dinner oj. Not sure if I drank too much or what. I had about six 8oz. glasses total all day. Went back to read my books and saw that Glickman does grapefruit juice instead of orange because he feels that oj is too thick. Not sure what the "thick" part means, but maybe it causes the feeling I'm having.

I had a small, semi-solid elimination this morning. Lots of gas last night. I assume that this is all part of the process.

Started up a mean crockpot of vegetable soup for tonight's first soup meal:

-sweet potato
-carrot
-celery
-yellow squash
-tomatoes
-leek
-okra
-leafy part of bok choy
-savoy cabbage
-white corn (cut off of ear)
-fresh dill sprigs
-fresh parsley
-small amounts of sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, cayenne, chili powder, caraway seed, thyme, bay leaf

NO chicken stock, beef stock, veg stock, etc

Filled a 6 quart crockpot almost full, and almost fully covered with the last of my Arrowhead spring water. Set for 6 1/2 hours. It will be either wonderful, or horrible...

Breaking the Fast - Day 1

WEIGHT: 208.8
LOSS: 0
Feeling: Great!

I just had the best glass of o.j. EVER!! 16 ounces of pure delight (4 oranges). Looking forward to more for lunch & dinner. Nothing much to report, except that I snuck a few mini sesame sticks last night at midnight as a celebration. Give me a break, I did 10 full days of lemonade...

Day 10

WEIGHT: 208.8
LOSS: 1.0
Feeling: Consistent; Good

Well... this is the last day for me! Could I go on for more? Yes and No. Yes, because I feel just fine every day. No, because I am hungry to eat "real" food...need a change, ya know? Need to use my teeth. And I will NOT miss the daily laxative tea & salt water drink at ALL. That is the toughest part.

I don't see how anyone with a 9-5 job, with a commute, could do this without getting up 2 hours earlier than normal. I would do a #2 about six times each morning, many of which are the sudden, running-to-the-bathroom type. A Full-On MC takes a lot of will power, but would take even more with someone who is a 9-5'er. Good luck with that!

I will begin to break the diet tomorrow. I am stoked that I get to head to the local farmer's market for something DIFFERENT:

- 1st day, fresh-squeezed OJ for all meals
- 2nd day, fresh-squeezed OJ for breakfast & lunch, and a vegetable soup for dinner (I will make fresh soup in my crockpot!)
- 3rd day, juice in the morning, more soup for lunch, and fresh raw veggies/fruits/salad for dinner
- 4th day, BACK TO NORMAL DIET!

It is suggested that fresh juice is taken every morning, with nothing else, as part of your regular diet. I can imagine doing this since the MC has trained me to survive on it alone! Let's see how I do...

I'll continue to blog through the next 4 or so days...with maybe an occasional update.

Day 9

WEIGHT: 209.8
LOSS: 0
Feeling: Good

Interesting...same weight 2 days in a row. Maybe I was a little dehydrated the day before, accounting for the 2 pound loss.

I am really used to this now, but I still can't wait to have a change. With confidence, I think that I could do this once a year and I would be fine. My biggest hope is to not have the ultra-bad habits kick back in, or at least maybe they do, but on a smaller scale. Knowing myself, that will be the case...a toned-down version of my previous diet, with maybe a little more attention to some raw veggies since they sound WONDERFUL right now. I can't imagine fitting much into my stomach right now, anyway.

That's about it. Last day is tomorrow...last laxative tea tonight, yea!

Day 8

WEIGHT: 209.8
LOSS: 2.0
Feeling: Good

Wow, 2 pound loss yesterday? I was definitely out & about all weekend. I drank 8 glasses yesterday, and a LOT of water due to the heat. Pretty sure I stayed hydrated.

I love the fact that I only have to do the laxative tea & salt water flush TWO MORE TIMES! Can't wait to eat real food by the weekend...yes, even rabbit food will be AWESOME.

Day 7

WEIGHT: 211.8
LOSS: .4
FEELING: Tired

Tired because of the long day yesterday, I'm sure. Forcing yourself to get up 2 hours before you have to leave (due to salt water flush) is kind of tough. BUT... 4 more days!!

Heading out again, which is always good.

Day 6

WEIGHT: 212.6
LOSS: .6
FEELING: Still Fine

HALF WAY THERE!!! Yea!! And almost 9 pounds lost. My guess is that I will lose 11-12 total.

Lots of poops this morning and a little more crampy than usual. Butt hurts a little bit, not fire-like, but just the colon working overtime. It needs a break. Salt water was fairly easy to drink.

Off to a busy day with a cooler of juice in the trunk...dreamin' of Buffalo Wild Wings.

Day 5

WEIGHT: 213.2
LOSS: 1.2
FEELING: Better than Yesterday

Almost to the half-way point!!

I have to admit...Day 4 was tougher than Days 2 or 3(contrary to Glickman's observations). I caught myself gazing at packages of food in the pantry, ready to pounce. The times when I'm working at home are definitely the worst. I'm hoping that today & the weekend go by quick because we'll be really busy.

Nothing really strange or new. I would like a hamburger, please. Or the Chicken Tortilla Soup from Wood Ranch.
